WAFER

Wafer gives perfume the idea of a thin, crisp biscuit: a baked sweetness with a lighter, drier edge than its creamy surroundings. It can recall an ice-cream cone or the biscuit layers around a sweet filling. Buttery and vanilla shades may round it out, while the wafer impression supplies the sense of a brittle pastry texture rather than cream alone.

Fragrance houses use the idea in different dessert settings. Filippo Sorcinelli lists a crunchy wafer in panna-sotto!, while Dulshe places a buttery wafer beside vanilla and brown sugar. These examples establish a gourmand effect, not a fixed recipe. The amount of sweetness, toastiness or creaminess depends on the accord and its neighbours. A wafer note does not mean that biscuits were extracted into the perfume, and it need not contain a particular nut, chocolate or filling.
