YUZU FLOWERS

Yuzu flowers suggest a fresh floral character edged with citrus, rather than simply the tart peel scent of the yuzu fruit. A blossom interpretation can feel crisp and bright while retaining a softer floral centre. The name refers to the flowers of Citrus junos, but its expression in perfume can be an accord rather than a direct extract of the blooms.

Specialist suppliers do offer a distilled flower oil, which is a different material from yuzu peel oil. That availability does not mean every perfume listing the note contains it. In a composition, yuzu flowers can connect a lively fruity opening with a floral heart or lend freshness to softer petals. Look at the surrounding notes to judge whether the effect is mainly citrusy, airy or sweet; the name alone does not fix its strength, duration or position.
