AMBRETTE
Ambrette is a botanical source of musky scent, with softly fruity and floral facets. Depending on the extract, it can also suggest a powdery or slightly liqueur-like warmth. It is distinct from amber: the similar names do not describe the same fragrance family.
The fragrant material comes from the seeds of Abelmoschus moschatus. Distillation and other extraction methods produce different perfumery materials, so there is no one processing method implied by the note. Ambrette can soften a floral or woody composition with a warm musky texture. The description points to a scent character, not a guarantee that a perfume contains a natural seed extract.
