Having experienced the cathedral beyond its public spaces, Filippo Sorcinelli sought to capture not merely its architecture or incense-filled atmosphere, but its enduring soul. The fragrance reflects the dramatic moment when smoke marked history, water flowed through ancient stone, and light entered through exposed vaults. It is a tribute to resilience, faith, and continuity, celebrating the spirit of a monument that remained alive despite devastation. Part of the fragrance’s mission also supports the preservation of the cathedral’s sacred musical heritage through contributions to the Musique Sacrée association.
The composition opens with patchouli, vetiver, mosses, precious woods, tonka bean, amber, and sandalwood, creating a rich and grounding introduction. Lily of the valley, geranium, and ambrette form a refined floral heart that brings elegance and balance. The fragrance settles into a luminous base of neroli, basil, coriander, ginger, iris, citrus notes, incense, and galbanum, creating a vibrant and contemplative trail.
