TONQUITONE

Tonquitone is a powerful animalic musk base in perfumery designed to recreate the deep, sensual aroma of natural deer musk. Because harvesting natural musk from the musk deer is now restricted for ethical and conservation reasons, modern perfumers rely on synthetic musk bases like Tonquitone to reproduce the same deep, animalic warmth without animal derivatives. The material is typically composed of macrocyclic musk components and related molecules, allowing it to mimic the complexity of natural musk while remaining stable and sustainable.
