ANE AYO
Ane Ayo is a Spanish-born perfumer whose multicultural journey across Europe has shaped a richly expressive olfactory voice. Raised in Bilbao beside the ocean, she developed an early sensitivity to scent—first as a child playing with a toy perfume organ, later recognizing people by their fragrance trails. Initially studying pharmacy, she discovered her true calling after reading about master perfumer Alberto Morillas, prompting her to pursue an MBA in perfume and fashion management and formal training at the Grasse Institute of Perfumery. Having studied in the UK, lived in Germany, and built her career in France, Ayo draws inspiration from diverse cultures, landscapes, and artistic disciplines.
Ayo’s signature style is visual, emotional, and concept-driven. Fascinated by painting, fabrics, and color, she often builds fragrances as thematic collections, sculpting materials to reveal their unique character. Travel—especially Japan and Mediterranean islands like Menorca—deeply informs her work, lending her creations a sense of atmosphere and poetic depth. For Ayo, perfumery is ultimately “a profession of trust and sharing,” an art that transforms memory, place, and imagination into scent.
